Introducing Our 2026/27 VJBL First Side Head Coaches! 🏀

We’re excited to announce our 2026/27 VJBL First Side Head Coaches

Our First Side Head Coaches have been selected for the experience, leadership, and commitment they bring to our program. They will play an important role in developing our athletes, building strong team cultures, and representing Wyndham Basketball

U12 Girls – Brodie Hillier

Brodie returns to Wyndham after coaching within Collingwood’s representative program. A former Wyndham VJBL player and current Big V Division 1 player, she brings valuable playing and coaching experience to lead our U12 Girls.

U12 Boys – Michael “Bluey” Flahive

Bluey is a familiar face around Wyndham Basketball. He currently coaches within the Basketball Victoria and Melbourne United programs and is passionate about helping young players improve. We’re excited to have him leading our U12 Boys.

U14 Girls – Jackie Stephens

Jackie is a current Wyndham VJBL coach, former Big V player and captain, and Basketball Victoria Future Development Program coach. She brings a wealth of representative experience and a strong focus on player development.

U14 Boys – Brad Salter

Brad is a current Wyndham VJBL coach, former Big V player and captain, and Basketball Victoria Future Development Program coach. His experience at both the playing and coaching levels provides a great foundation for our U14 Boys.

U16 Girls – Sarah Sherwood

Sarah is a current Wyndham Big V player and VJBL coach, as well as a Basketball Victoria Future Development Program coach. She has also recently worked with She Hoops and the Australian Opals, bringing valuable high-performance experience to the program.

U16 Boys – Ken Kirkham

Ken is a current Wyndham VJBL coach whose leadership helped guide our U14.1 Boys to qualify for the 2026 National Junior Classic. He is passionate about developing players, helping them reach their potential.

U18 Girls – Kathie Jane

Kathie is a current Wyndham VJBL coach and Assistant Coach of our Wyndham Big V Division 1 Women. Her involvement across both junior and senior basketball provides valuable continuity for our athletes and helps strengthen the pathway from VJBL to Big V.

U18 Boys – Gav Ross

Gav is a current Wyndham VJBL coach and Assistant Coach at Big V Level. His experience across both junior and senior basketball, combined with his commitment to player development, makes him an outstanding leader for our U18 Boys.
